Artist Statement

In my art practice, I work with combinations of different painting media such as spray cans, acrylic paint, and oil pastels. My paintings are expressive, but I use the expression as a tool, rather than as a final outcome. Forms that I create within the canvas surface have sense of movement which is derived from the ubiquity of infinity, constant movement of all things in the universe that exist within time and space, based on synchronicity, which does never stop and still continues to transform balance in the reality of our world. This balance is fluid and never stagnates. My paintings are moments of this fluidity of harmony. They are also a way I explore the possibilities of materializing this cosmic energy through the various painting media and my own artistic process.

The artworks articulate their own visual language and can often resonate with the energy of the viewer. In my artistic process, I work very intuitively, creating an aesthetic experience through evoking abstract emotions that are operated by different forms, colours, gestures and strategies that I subconsciously learn to use, creating compositions and interactions of these aspects, which give birth to a completely new world for the viewer to explore. The forms I explore often transform into abstract symbols that are extracted from thinking patterns and are also partly influenced by graffiti writing, which I am inspired by and where part of my art practice lies. There is a back and forth relationship between graffiti and my work - they inform each other. In this way, I consider myself a post-graffiti artist.
